Reaction to fire

E-mail Print PDF

Reaction to fire is important during the growing phase of a fire and concerns the properties of a material with regard to the influence on the origin and the development of the fire.

Relevant properties of the material are:

  • ignitability/inflammability
  • the amount of heat released during combustion
  • the extent of propagation of flames over a surface
  • the amount and the nature of the combustion gasses

WFRGENT nv has a large set of equipment to perform tests and assign classifications which are standardised on a national, an European as well as an international level. The full series of tests prescribed by the European construction products directive (CPD), tests for the navigation (IMO) and others are part of this.
