In July 2009 the new SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) regulations came into force, these are used all over the world by all flag states. To support these new rules, a new Fire Test Procedure (FTP) Code was written, which is a summary of the fire requirements and test methods, in order to control the performance.
In 2001 a new High Speed Craft Code was published to control the new generation of lightweight fast catamarans and monohulls.

Marine Equipment Directive
Within the European Union the publication of the Marine Equipment Directive and three amendments led to the sufficiency of an approval in the European flag states to make the use of the product in all European member states possible.
WFRGENT NV is a notified body for the Marine Equipment Directive and can provide the necessary tests for the approval of products to be used in the European registered ships.
